gm cleanse day #3 begins

yesterday was day #2 of the General Motors diet.

"Like the first day of the GM diet weight loss plan, the second day would entail another adjustment for the individual in terms of food intake. The first day of the diet plan required a strict fruit-only diet, while the second day would be limited only to vegetables. All sorts of vegetables may be consumed on the Day 2 of the GM diet, and these range from green leafy vegetables to starchy crops. This is to boost the fiber intake of the body while regulating the sugar content from the first day’s consumption, and at the same time foster metabolic processes." (from gmdietworks.com)

here's how it went down:

breakfast: 1 enormous potato (which you saw yesterday) with a teaspoon of earth balance (vegan buttery spread) and salt and pepper + a cup of pumpmkin spice tea.
lunch: ok here is where things started to go downhill. a couple hours after breakfast i started getting that hungry/queasy thing going on but i was too busy to eat anything, so i told myself to just hang in there. then when i finally had time to microwave my fart soup, i ate a couple spoonfuls and then got called away from my desk again for about 45 minutes and by the time i got back, not only was my soup ice cold, but i also felt pretty barfy. i forced down a couple cucumber slices instead.
dinner: by dinner, i was pretty lightheaded and cold and tired and feeling like i was going to hurl at any given second. cooking jeremy's dinner (showcasing animal flesh) was a challenge but i survived. my dinner was steamed cauliflower with peas (accented by chives and garlic) and a cup of mint tea. i felt much better after dinner.

when i woke up this morning, i was 2 pounds lighter than i was yesterday. that's 3 pounds so far.

day #3
day three is fruits and vegetables, but no starches (like potatoes or bananas).

here's my breakfast:

at the last second, i decided to throw in a couple handfuls of spinach. here is the end result:

you guys!!! this was the best smoothie i've ever made. it was so flavorful!

MOST DELICIOUS SMOOTHIE I'VE EVER MADE RECIPE:
  • 2 clementines
  • 3/4 cup frozen pineapple tidbits
  • 2 teaspoons of ground ginger
  • large handful of spinach

this morning, i went to the gym for my normal elliptical routine, however, i was a pathetic weakling. about 15 minutes into it, i really wanted to give up. 30 minutes into it, i had no choice. so i gave myself a 5 minute cool down and did the walk of shame out of planet fitness. in 35 minutes, i covered 3.08 miles and burned 340 calories (if those measurements on the machine are correct, which i feel pretty dubious about). hopefully tomorrow morning will be better.

here is a picture of the lunch that i packed myself today!

it includes more of last night's steamed cauliflower and peas with chives and garlic, some grapes, a pear and an apple. today is going to be much better than yesterday, i can already tell. but tomorrow ... well, you will have to stay tuned to find out the ridiculous meal plan for tomorrow, brought to you by the diet nazis at general motors.
